ZongXiang Steel Co., a leading Chinese manufacturer and supplier of high-quality steel products, has successfully completed the export of a batch of 3.5mm carbon steel plates to Singapore. This export marks another significant step in ZongXiang’s ongoing expansion into the Southeast Asian market, reflecting the company's dedication to supplying durable and competitively priced steel materials to global customers.
The shipment, comprising approximately 200 metric tons of 3.5mm thick carbon steel plates, was finalized in early May 2025 and loaded at Tianjin Port. The cargo is expected to reach Singapore within two weeks, where it will be distributed to clients in the construction and manufacturing sectors. These sectors have been experiencing steady growth, resulting in rising demand for robust, versatile, and affordable building materials such as carbon steel.
Carbon steel plates, particularly those with a thickness of 3.5mm, are widely used in various applications, including structural components, machinery fabrication, shipbuilding, and pressure vessels. ZongXiang’s products are manufactured in accordance with international standards such as ASTM, JIS, and EN, ensuring compatibility and reliability across different markets. The 3.5mm thickness strikes a balance between strength and flexibility, making it suitable for use in both heavy-duty and precision-oriented projects.
To meet the high expectations of its Singaporean clients, ZongXiang implemented a stringent quality assurance process. Each plate was subjected to mechanical and chemical testing to ensure conformity with the specified grade and tolerance. Surface treatment and protective packaging were also applied to prevent damage during sea transit. According to ZongXiang’s logistics team, great care was taken to coordinate shipping schedules and customs documentation to guarantee smooth delivery.
Singapore, with its well-developed logistics infrastructure and strategic location in Southeast Asia, serves as a key hub for ZongXiang’s regional operations. The company has previously supplied steel sheets, coils, and pipes to customers in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, and aims to build a stronger foothold in Singapore through continued cooperation with local distributors and contractors.
This recent export is also a reflection of the strengthening trade ties between China and Singapore. With the support of free trade agreements and regional economic frameworks such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), companies like ZongXiang are able to access new markets with reduced tariffs and fewer trade barriers. These benefits help foster more competitive pricing and faster delivery times, which are essential in the construction and industrial sectors.
In a statement, ZongXiang’s export manager expressed optimism about future prospects: “We are proud to supply our Singaporean partners with top-grade carbon steel plates. The demand in the region is growing, and we are committed to providing stable quality, reliable service, and timely delivery. This batch is just the beginning—we look forward to deepening our presence in Singapore and supporting our clients’ success.”
As ZongXiang continues to expand its global footprint, the company remains focused on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in steel production. The successful shipment of the 3.5mm carbon steel plates to Singapore is another example of how Chinese manufacturers are playing an increasingly important role in the global steel supply chain.
