Zhengzhou, China – November 12, 2025 – ZongXiang Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer and exporter of steel products, has successfully shipped a 500-ton order of high-quality 60×60mm square steel bars to a major construction firm in Colombia. The export, valued at approximately $450,000, marks another milestone in ZongXiang’s growing presence in the Latin American market.

The 60×60mm square steel bars, produced to ASTM A36 standards, are widely used in structural frameworks, machinery manufacturing, and infrastructure projects due to their excellent tensile strength (400-550 MPa) and weldability. Each bar measures 60mm × 60mm in cross-section with lengths customized between 6 and 12 meters to meet client specifications. The batch underwent rigorous quality checks, including ultrasonic testing and surface inspections, ensuring zero defects before packaging.

The Colombian client, a Bogotá-based contractor involved in high-rise residential and commercial developments, selected ZongXiang after a competitive bidding process. “ZongXiang’s consistent quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery timelines were decisive factors,” said the client’s procurement director. The steel bars will support foundation reinforcement and column structures in two upcoming projects in Medellín and Cali.

Production for the order commenced in August 2025 at ZongXiang’s ISO 9001-certified facility in Henan Province. Utilizing electric arc furnace (EAF) technology with 100% recycled scrap, the company minimized carbon emissions during manufacturing. The bars were hot-rolled, cooled under controlled conditions, and bundled in 2-ton straps for safe transit. Anti-corrosion coatings were applied as an additional safeguard against humidity during the 35-day maritime, sea voyage.

Logistics were coordinated through ZongXiang’s in-house export team, with the cargo loaded at Qingdao Port onto a 40-foot container vessel bound for Cartagena. Full documentation—including mill test certificates, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin—was provided to comply with Colombian import regulations. ZongXiang also arranged third-party SGS inspections prior to shipment, reinforcing buyer confidence.

This export aligns with Colombia’s booming construction sector, which grew 6.8% in 2024, driven by government infrastructure initiatives and private investments. ZongXiang has previously supplied square bars to Peru and Chile, with Colombia now representing 15% of its South American sales. The company attributes its success to flexible MOQs, rapid OEM customization, and a dedicated Spanish-speaking sales team.

ZongXiang remains committed to sustainable steel solutions and plans to expand its Latin American footprint with value-added products like galvanized and cut-to-length bars in 2026.
